Great experience. We enjoyed an upside-down pizza and the penne vodka. Real casual atmosphere. My expectations were pleasantly exceeded.

Went for lunch and had the panini and soda combo. It was a good price since the panini was big and stuffed with veggies. I had the grilled vegtable panini with mozzarella which tasted great but I wasn't a fan of their orzo salad that came with it. My friend got the slice and soda combo and said the pizza was good.

Love this place. Perfect for a quick slice or two. Can be a little greasy but definitely the best pizza in the area. Love how crunchy the crust is! Doesn't flop over when you pick it up. Sauce is delicious. Definitely a hidden gem.

Just moved in and found our new favorite regular pizza joint! Got a large pizza and not only was it affordable, it was really good!

I've come here for pick up twice - it's in a convenient location and easy to grab on a Friday night. Their margherita is where it's at - good mozzarella and lots of basil. Their crust is fresh and hand tossed in house so it has that good , random quality I love in pizzas where they aren't perfect circles. It's the place you don't leave the crust ends at. Their bread sticks were too tough and I wouldn't order them again - this place is all about the pizza. The normal pizza we ordered with black olives tasted amazingly like sbarros pizza in the mall with better crust. The cheese and sauce were amazingly reminiscent of Sbarro. I think the margherita is what I'll stick with.

Pizza is very tasty. However, the service was very disappointing. First, the pickup order for a one topping pizza was said to be ready in 20-30 minutes. I was there in 20 minutes and after paying, I waited 5 minutes before the pizza chef put my already-made pizza, that was sitting on a shelf with a bunch of already-made pizzas, in the oven to be heated up. Then, the website and menu show a price of $13.99 for a large pie, but they charged me $14.99. While I was waiting, since i had time to stand there in the empty restaurant for 5 minutes before they put my pie back in for reheating, I asked about the price. They said the changes went up but it's not reflected on the menu yet. Usually I would expect a restaurant or business to honor the advertised price when confronted about it. They didn't offer or suggest anything. Then, the charge for an entire topping was applied when we had the topping on half the pie. I know it's nitpicking, and I would order from here again, but I was disappointed because I expected much more from a local business. I did not push for any discount or deduction, so I cannot say they refused to honor it. But still, that should have been routine. Never had anything but pizza. Pizza is tasty. Great sauce.

What a great surprise this place was. We ended up there because the wait at duffy's was too long and I'm I glad that happened. We had the rice ball and it was outstanding also the marinara that comes to dip it in was as good. My fiancée ordered the mussels which are an appetizer as her entree and it was a very decent portion of some of the best mussels we ever had. I ordered the chicken smoked Gouda portobello panini and wow the flavors in that panini was amazing I could not stop eating it. We are glad we found this place since we live nearby and we will definitely be back next time we want Italian.

Amicis means family. This family gets it right. Great sauce and balls. Rice balls are the best. The restaurant is Clean. The food is Fresh.

By far our favorite family restaurant! Best staff, clean restaurant, great service! We have celebrated many occasions here! LOVE the chicken parm, calzones, and the wings are AMAZING! If you haven't tried it, grab your family and head over... Your tummy will thank you!!

I find this to be a cute Italian spot. The food is pretty good. Other family members find it too salty, but I enjoy it enough to get it when I'm in the area. The people who work there are friendly.

Mediocre food, service is always one of a kind but in a horrible way. How does a restaurant run out of napkins?! Waitress actually brought bathroom papertowels that she gathered herself. Yuck.

Ordered 12 people pizzas for our daughters birthday party last night from Amici's. The pizzas at Amici's have always been good but last night they were amazing. All of the guests commented about the quality of the pizza. The delivery was right on time and the delivery person was very helpful. This is a great pizza parlor! Keep it up!

Yummy local pizza place. Pizza is very good but a little pricey. Looking for something different? Try their buffalo chicken pizza. Has a little spice to it along with great flavor.

Awesome food and service. The manager greeted us while we ate and cracked jokes with our son. Will def be coming back.

Coming home from a 4 day wedding photography gig in the bahamas, I was looking forward to some good pizza for dinner. I just needed that American food renewal after all the Caribbean fare. So we ordered here to pick up. My boyfriend took a while to get home, and I was curious what took so long. He told me when he walked in they were just putting our pizza in, but it looked as thought it was pre-cooked earlier and they were re-heating it now... On top of that, he noticed that there were more pizzas done the same way and one worker was putting pepperoni on top of an already cooked pizza pie and throwing it back in the oven...Then we knew we'd be eating "left over pizza" that we just freshly purchased. Sure enough the cheese wasn't that fresh stringy, gooey consistency and the crust was rubbery. I mean seriously? It was Monday at 4 and they weren't even busy. I will NEVER go here again based on this cooking process.

My wife and I love to pick up the cheese pizzas from here, which rank among the best we've ever had. The restaurant is kept clean inside, and the staff is always very friendly - I don't know the owners, but it seems to be a family-owned place, with all the positives that brings. If you're looking for an alternative to a big-chain pizza, definitely give this place a try. You may find a new favorite!

My family ate here tonight, what a great little place. The pizza was fantastic, the crust was crispy but still had some chew to it. We got the buff e Que wings which were cooked to perfection and we loved the sauce. For my son and daughter we got chicken tenders and fries. I would recommend you get one order of fries as it's a huge order. The tenders were really good as well. There are a number of tables outside and a few inside. The servers/order takers were both very friendly and we got our food quick which is great when you have two impatient hungry kids. All in all a great place and we'll definitely be back.

While visiting from NY and being a real pizza critic...I wasn't so sure I wanted to try Florida pizza lol after reviewing yelp I found this place and from the reviews it seemed worth a try. I got a LG pizza and a calzone. The pizza was very good and the calzone terrific! I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was! I highly recommended! Hoping to try some other dishes before I leave.

This is the place for the BEST pizza! Always fresh and delish! Their dinners are great and it's like eating at grandma's house. We frequent often and have never been disappointed.

Amici's is such a delicious experience every time. Their pizza has such an authentic, New York style taste, their subs are so crunchy and savory, and their entrees are expertly crafted. You can tell that they really care about their food quality and reputation. I've never had anything bad from this place, it's truly the perfect pizza spot. Amici's does deliver and they are quite speedy, but I suppose it depends on where you live in reference to them. It's a tad bit pricey, but I never feel any remorse after chowing down on their chicken parm submarine. Definitely worth a visit, definitely a competitor among the elite pizzerias out there.

The most amazing wings I have ever had in my life, they make a great dipping sauce for the wings buffalo and barbecue combined, it tastes great! The pizza is amazing and the food is good as well. They are great for pick up or take out, we love this pizza place and never go anywhere Else for pizza.

  • Justin S.

Overall very good. The pizza was FRESH and DID NOT sit like mentioned in other reviews... The service was excellent. The owner came over an spoke with us and made us feel like more than just another customer. The pizza was good but not the best I have ever had. Would have liked it cooked lighter and with more sauce (but that is just me). The Monday and Tuesday special is a great deal for 9.95. I don't recall any Italian music playing and some decor (table cloths, fake flowers, etc) would have been nice. Also I would have liked for the cheese, napkins, salt and other essential items for eating to already be on the table for people dinning in, rather than near the drink machine where everyone gets up. I just feel unwelcome when tables are totally empty.

  • Bella N.

So far we've only gone for pizza...and it's simply delicious! The dough and the fresh tomato sauce. None of that marinara out of the can. Even the left overs are great coming out of the oven.

  • Stefan S.

Simply delicious New York style pizza. At $13.99 for a large, and $9.99 on Mondays and Tuesdays, you can't beat it. Nothing fancy, nothing special, just a really good pizza that will satisfy any craving. What a difference from the chain crap most people around here order. I would give this place 4.5 stars because my pizza was on the salty side, but unfortunately Yelp doesn't allow half star ratings.

All three of us had chicken parmesan...it was good...crispy, plenty of it (leftovers), good sauce...nice, cold salad with good dressing, good breadsticks. Great prices, nice décor...very casual, but that's just what we were looking for.

Best NY style pizza in Coconut Creek. Excellent quality ingredients and good service too. If you order take out they do par cook it and put it back in the oven for 2 minutes when you arrive. It's not old leftover pizza like a previous reviewer thought. It's a nice touch and ensures you leave with a piping hot pizza straight from the oven.

  • Yaroslav H.

Great pizza made by nice people! Try the whole wheat crust pizza. They make the finest rice balls. Nice wine selection for a pizzeria. I say pizzeria, but Amici's is a cut above the average pizza joint. Try it and you'll be sold! Free Wi-Fi! The code is the store phone number...

Nice small place with good food. I wouldn't say it's the best pizza but I would definitely go again! Great sauce and polite and fast service. Large parties might want to call ahead as there is limited seating.

We love the grilled chicken & portobello mushroom panini with smoked gouda. It is delicious! We also got a calzone with mushrooms and anchovies. It was huge and really good, but very cheesy (which may be a plus or minus, depending on personal taste). The place is warm & inviting, decorated with lots of wood.

  • H C.

Its your good old NY style corner pizza place. The pizza was great for the price. The pasta was good. When I walked in i saw them preparing some fresh portobello mushrooms. Will definitely be trying those out next time.

  • Jonathan M.

I'm changing my review because the last time I came here I'm 100% sure they had already baked pizzas just sitting on racks that they would pop into the oven to heat up. I placed and order for pickup so there's no excuse for this. I know a reheated pizza when I see one. The cheese was tough and rubbery. My first visit here was good and I remember the pizza being fresh but I like consistency and don't want to roll the dice on getting a fresh pizza or not. There's another place nearby that's amazing so I'll be going there instead.

They have the best pizza sauce. Fresh and tasty. Very friendly service and good pizza. I haven't tried their deserts yet but I've heard good things about it. Looking forward to trying it soon.

Food is good and so is service in this local place. Sort of hidden next to Duffys next door. Pizza is thin and not greasy. They offer a 9.95 pizza special Monday and Tuesday night. They also offer some foursquare specials and text message specials to customers. The owner and people that work there are vewry friendly. I never had anything that was not good, or cooked poorly. Orders are made quickly for takeout. I know they deliver also. They have a small but nicely decorated interior so you can eat there.

I'm from NYC and we order from here at least once a week. That should say it all. Great pizza and their calzones are friggin awesome.

For some reason, even though I live just about across the street, this is the first time I've tried Amici's. It's very hard to find a non-chain, thin crust pizza that is as good as the ones we took for granted when I was growing up in Baltimore. We ordered a large cheese pizza-nothing fancy-for carry out. The actual place is very appealing, sorta cafe-ish with a TV and very clean looking with a welcoming and friendly staff. I spied a GREAT bottle of Chilean red wine and if we were sure, at that point, that the pizza was good, we would have changed our order from to go, to eat in and uncork that red! But...we are very picky, so we stuck to carry out. The pizza exceeded my expectations by a mile. So far above ANYTHING in the area, I cannot say it enough. Forget that burned coal fire pizza crap. That's NOT the pizza of the 1960's that I grew up on, for crissakes. The sauce was very different from a chain because it actually had a home made flavor and it was generously spread across a great thin crust that puffed up a bit around the edges, exactly as I would hope. It was perfectly cooked and had a nice crunch, but not brittle, the way that coal fired stiff and not doughy and bloated the way the chains serve up. I cannot emphasize how critical I am when it comes to pizza. I hate everyone I have tasted in FL, because NONE live up to my standards. There are a few places I like, such as D'Angelos and Cafe Europa in Ft Lauderdale, but they are not traditional-style pizzas. They are nice renditions of a specialty pie, but not the kind of pizza you want on a Sunday night or one you might crave as a midweek treat. It's a damn good thing I am a runner, because otherwise, I'd be in for some weight gain, because I intend to come back to Amici's and come back often. Don;t miss this pizza if you are in the Hillsboro & Lyons area.

  • Heather W.

Pizza is okay. Prices are high. Owner is nasty. Pizzas are cooked ahead of time and then put in for reheating. gross. They made a mistake on the pricing and the owner was so nasty he said oh well. Will NEVER go back. Not giving my business to a nasty boss. Better pizza down the street. Humberto's is the only pizza ill have from now on!

4.5 stars & pleasantly surprised! Took food to go on the recommendation of friend who loves this tiny place hidden in a strip mall. This place is nothing fancy but nice and quaint. We tried: penne w/white sauce, chicken parm, lasagna, orzo, chicken w/portabella sandwich, and a chicken mushroom pizza...ALL was sooo tasty! Loved it all but my favs were the sandwich and pizza! Very inexpensive. If you are in the area it's a place to stop as there aren't many yummy places anywhere near by!

  • Christopher M.

It is hidden in a strip mall, but it is South Florida's best "hidden" restaurant. The calzone is the best I've ever had! The service is awesome, and you will always find one of the owners there cooking and serving. There isn't any place better in south Florida.

Ehhh.... Sandwich was good but the pasta and clam sauce was bad. All canned clams and they throw in 1 shell so you think it's all fresh. The delivery was a mess. Everything squashed and leaking.

Love their pizza, especially the Monday special for $9.99. Can't beat feeding your family of 3 for $20 with tip. The staff is super nice and friendly.

This Italian Restaurant is the best in this area. I love the Penne a La Vodka with meatballs on the side. The pizza is so good I don't have to go to NYC to get a good slice! My husband loves the Chicken Parm he said it is the best he has ever had. I know they use great ingredients and not cheap cheese that make the pizza gross .... You will not regret coming!!!

  • Sabrina H.

Always delcious! Love the rice balls and that pizza. Not a huge fan of the break ticks, which they had garlic rolls. Other than that yum! And I love how they deliver now!!

  • Hadlee G.

We tried the square pizza, breadsticks and a child's pasta was ordered. I have eaten many pizzas and this one was fair at best. This is definitely a place you can pass on as the pizza was not good with low quality cheese and fair sauce.

  • Scott B.

So let me start by saying I like thier pizza. I've ordered several times and had it delivered to my home and will continue to do so in the future. However, this review is specifically for a visit that I made to "eat in" for lunch. I ordered a slice and a salad from the lunch special. I think it was 6.50 plus tip. For 6.50 I would expect to get a rather large fresh slice of pizza and a decent bowl of salad, you know enough to fill me up. Instead I received a small slice that looked like it had been sitting out all day, dried up and crispy and a salad plate with about three pieces of lettuce on it! Lettuce was pretty inexpensive the last time I bought it....so basically I left feeling hungry and wishing I had gone to Chipotle spent the same amount of money and had an entire bowl of fresh much healthier food. Lesson learned.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
